I can compare the Sennheiser Wireless Urbanite XL with a Sony MDR-10RBT (which costs about 100 less, currently 167 vs. 279 for the Sennheiser). Both I (no, Nexus 5 Nexus 9 with aptX) tested on the PC with a aptX-enabled dongle from Sennheiser (BTD 500 USB) and two Android devices.
Sonically convinced the Sennheiser: For my (not audiophile auditory) of Sony sound in direct comparison less neutral, somewhat dull, with schwammigerem Bass. Also the Sennheiser are deeper bass frequencies, there one feels with the appropriate material more of it than the Sony.
The processing of the Sennheiser is impeccable, he makes a very high-quality and stable impression. In comparison, Sony acts as a toy.
After solid duty Sennheiser but then goofed in the freestyle.
Cracking at reproduction end (Bluetooth): Ends the current playback or you paused or is merely an interim tone (eg notification sound) play, so the headphones on a few seconds later his amplifier (or anything else) from what is clearly audible as cracking , (You can hear the same thing at the end of the (English) voice guidance, which announces a so producing or disconnect (and this is sometimes also distorted).)
Noise: In connection with the amplifier shutdown you can hear that the headset is idle has a not to be listening noise, which disappears only after the disconnection.
Both cracking and noise, there is the Sony not, which shows that there is another way.
Reliability of the Bluetooth connection: Bluetooth range I would rate as well, for it comes from and when connecting (observed with the PC with Sennheiser dongle) to the fact that although the headphone signals the connection, but no sound is reproduced.
Touchpad: The touchpad is used to, and I think that an absolutely reliable operation so that's just not possible. Not only is operated occasionally by mistake, also interprets the device sometimes operations false. In particular, the volume adjustment is hakelig, and that is (for me) the most frequently used function. The Call Reject by long pressure did not work for me in the test, which may be due to an incompatibility with my phone but.
Comfort: Normal big ears should cope with the clam size (the ear edge pushes this then something between outer and inner cushion cover fabric, but that's OK). However, I feel the headphones altogether after a short gestation period not as oppressive (and also with a full sized head, I think).
Overall, I find it unfortunate that Sennheiser makes sick here a sound and externally very good product at a variety of other annoying little things. Especially in the lower bass range of Sennheiser my Sony is clearly superior, the bass is there more and more differentiated. Unfortunately, I disturb the other points so much that I will not keep the headphones.
