The decision was then Sonos actually once only because Bose has no small solution for up to 200 euros on offer, but only at 400 Euro begins. I gave the SoundTouch after testing listening back and have once me for the kitchen a Sonos Play: buy 1. Then I was out of the play: 1 box so impressed that I immediately added a Sonos Play me: 1 have been purchased for the living room: 5 and another play.
What I love about Sonos really like:
1. The sound:
=========
I hear mainly R & B, Soul, Classical and audiobooks. The Bose Sound Touch 20 and Sonos Play: 5 are sonically and priced equivalent to the Play: 1 Box is sound good, but is lagging behind something. But the combination of Play: 5 and Play: 1, as I now use in the living room is absolutely outstanding!
2. HOW TO USE:
=============
Sonos is controlled exclusively via an app on your PC, smartphone and tablet. This app is gaining more and more attention. And here the Sonos application is really exciting simply, clearly and extensively. About the app I access music on PC, Tablet and NAS, as well as on Amazon Cloud, Audible and Deezer.
(And that needs to be said at this point again: the Amazon cloud is great The CDs that I bought in the past 2 years at Amazon are already automatically in the cloud and can be streamed from me directly on Sonos!.)
When Bose Sound Touch also 6 direct buttons on the unit are available in addition to the Bose app, which can be freely assigned. The buttons on the Bose I felt really as a great advantage. But here I was very disappointed: The control at Bose is of course primarily about the app and the 6 speed dial keys are nothing more than the direct control of a defined favorites list. For 6 keys are simply too little and offer advantages over the Sonos app no gain in comfort. And the Bose app is a joke compared to Sonos: Less intuitively, less extensive and overall not mature. Here Sonos has his nose just miles ahead - sorry, Bose.
3. Flexibility:
=============
The same music throughout the house? You are welcome. Loud in the kitchen rather quiet and in the living room? All right. In the living room and Mozart in the kitchen an audiobook? No Problem. Multiroom with Sonos works flawlessly, in perfect sync and may at any time be supplemented by other Sonos boxes. Bose I can not comment because I was not able to test the multiroom functionality.
Conclusion:
====
Rarely has me a bit as enthusiastic as Sonos. High quality, flexible and innovative. The sound is outstanding for compact speakers. Strong buy recommendation. I am a new fan.
