I have switched late which is great camera on the market and bought me the R1 only now. The camera gets me full 5 stars. Large sensor, super lens with a focal length realistic distribution (very good wide angle to telephoto only good). Perfect picture quality. From my years of experience as a travel cameraman and photographer, the following experience values: a good wide-angle you need more than a Tele. (With large telephoto focal lengths incomprehensibly still regarded as selling point) and what use to me is the best interchangeable lens when the subject is not waiting is changed to the lens or lens has been forgotten at home. Certainly the viewfinder of an SLR is sharper and brighter than the R1. The disadvantages here are also obvious: insane mechanical effort with folding mirror, no live appearance of colors and the brightness, as the look goes directly through the optics. In the R1 can I the grid on or off as I want, with an SLR have to get global opt for a grid plate in the prism if it is at all possible. That's just one example of what is possible with an electronic viewfinder and the possibilities are numerous. Too bad that Sony has stopped production because of further development of the viewfinder (more pixels) and other minor improvements (Bildstabilastor), you could build a pioneering system that would be quite suitable for interchangeable lenses without an on-consuming and not outdated mechanics having to resort classic SLR.
