Today I received the Sony cable RM-VPR1 a few hours ago. Of course, I tried it once and can say that everything works as described. With regard to the quality I can only say that it is a product made by Sony. So outstanding. The cable could be somewhat longer (only 87 cm long). Sony has previously produced remotes whose cables were 1.50 m long. I can not understand the complainers, who resent the prices of Sony products. Who has no money for cameras and photo accessories, should provide only "snap pictures" and not take pictures. That is cheaper.
