As for the sound quality of these headphones, I was extremely disappointed. In a direct comparison of the old model and the new one, I thought the New Stone Age in the sound quality to land. By contrast, the 12 year old listeners sounds like a Hi-Fi headphones.
I have tested the MDR ED 12 to multiple devices (MP3 player, PC, stereo system). The high notes always sound like through a cotton ball through the middle tones outshine almost everything and bass were only rudimentary. An advantage had the headphones: It was noisy.
Conclusion: I have returned the item, as listening to music so that is not adequately possible. But listening to audio book it is undoubtedly good use. The old man is now once again cleaned and used further.
