The E07K I operate via USB on my Win7 notebook that goes smoothly. My Android devices can use the USB-DAC begin unfortunately nothing (Samsung Galaxy S2 and Asus TF700T), so I here - if at all - use the analog input of the E07K.
Now to the point that was most important to me: "If you hear a difference?"
Yes, but less than I thought. Unlike the three devices directly (ie the 3.5mm output notebook, mobile phone, tablet) seems to me the sound from the E07K clear and precise before, especially in the bass.
The headphone output of notebooks (Dell XPS15) does not sound too bad, but nuances less deep bass foundation - and one also has the impression that here tend the basslines for "nachblubbern". On E07K that sounds cleaner, as more precisely.
This means in my view but NOT night that the sound to classes over the internal amplifiers of devices takes off. I listen to "0" with all EQs - that is, without the bass boost, etc.
In between, I was not so sure if the Sony MDR-V6 is not perhaps sound a little harsh on E07K. Maybe that's a downside to the "Präszision".
Also worth mentioning is perhaps that these headphones to handle particularly easy apply for amplifier - to say: even more feeble, "bad" headphone amplifier can produce them with a good sound.
In other, the amplifier "difficult" headphones you will experience possibly a much larger sound progress with an external headphone amplifier like the E07K.
Oh, what I hear right now? Current popular music, some hard rock, rare classics.
The handling of the E07K is in itself simple: Plug in all cables, Win7 then immediately switches to USB DAC output to.
What I would wish on E07K is a somewhat simpler handling of the menus - to get clear, but the 4-button-operation is a bit antiquated.
Ultimately, I would find a knob for volume control very nice - but that's probably at the price not in it.
Conclusion: I do not regret the purchase, even if the progress yoy. is my previous internal headphone amplifiers smaller than expected.
