Sounds like Europe, but not as in 1986!

Europe today is still reduced to its mega success The Final Countdown, even though the band has mostly have sounded before and after this album quite different. Since the reunion, the Swedes clearly sound bluesy and let sound through their classic rock roots more present.

The roots can be Joey Tempest & Co. incorporated quite clear in her songs on the new album War Of Kings. Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin are listening out many songs on the album. For Nothin 'To Ya to Europe bow in a song just before the two bands. The keyboard have been very purplesk, ending the guitars have a significant Page list.

Despite all the influences the band still sounds like Europe, just not as Europe 1986. Before very agile drumming of Ian Haugland you can actually take your hat. John Norums Arts at the six string are undisputed.

Highlights of the album are for me the very relaxed sounding California 405. The fast and hard Days Of Rock N Roll and the relaxed ballad Angels (With A Heart Brocken).

Great Hard Rock album which I like better than its direct predecessor! 4.5 stars!
