Source material: mostly original CD's & Apple Lossless files to AAC or MP3 down with 192 kbit
Music style: VA Rock, Pop, Jazz, Electronic / Instrumental & Latin
Chain: the computer digitally via DAC Beresford Caiman and its integrated headphone amplifier or trial basis directly into the headphone jack of a Cambridge Azur 650A amplifier.
In summary, my impressions, of course, partly due to my subjective preferences and focal points:
Processing
. On wertigsten d Denon (Va. Wg of sheathed cable, acts indestructible), at the other end of the Sennheiser -> lacquered plastic, the only advantage the replaceable cables. Beyerdynamic intervening in sum, very valent case, only the cable has little confidence and is not interchangeable.
Comfort
Top: Beyerdynamic DT880, very light, fit perfectly and fall into oblivion (++), the negative Sennheiser: the highest pressure (did not carry him any longer, because from this listener was checked although I have a narrow head shape). Denon middle. Surprisingly, the Beyerdynamic DT 770 similar to the Denon, but away from the 880s -. This was due to the harder pad and despite the same housing d seemed to me a little more pressure.
Sound
Top: DT880 - huge space, silky & crystal clear highs and a very harmonious overall picture, only he could do with a little more bass. Behind on the same wavelength: DT770 and Denon, both strong bass foundation, the Beyerdynamic something controlled. . Both, however, suffers from the high frequencies, the extent of raised bass level od the drivers of quality, this influence is hard to say, however, is missing with at acoustic pieces the brilliance - so you only hear the DT880 eg the scrape of fingers on the guitar neck before the page at all is plucked. The Sennheiser is here imo an allrounder od without special Pros. Cons, but not for my taste outstanding.
Others
Very low output level at the Beyerdynamic, with 250 Ohm I think is very limited without KHV and so va hardly used on mobile devices. Here the Denon could score points with low impedance between d. Sennheiser. This was for me (only stationary) but not a criterion, it should be noted for all readers.
After this first pass I had to Sennheiser (comfort) and Denon (bass precision, mid / high frequency production) eye closed and concentrated on the two Beyerdynamic. An attempt for the purpose of comfort to swap the Ohrpölster has ended with the sound tuning for both was in the basement - spongy Bassgewummer at DT880, at the same time a lot less space and forfeited middle / hight quality - contrast a dull, bass poor DT 770 without, however, in Central / treble winning -> impressive representation of the interaction Driver + cushion / housing!
Have decided, despite the absence of bass at VA older productions for the DT880, it was the only listener, in which the overall sound image in total simple sounds around and my preferences accommodates. For this, the best by far comfort finalize my decision, but also related to the source material.
One hears rather only current pop / rock productions, which might even with primary compressed MP3 material I'd rather pick up the DT770 because the music simply wg. Bass response is more fun without the disadvantages are strongly to the fore.
If, however, HiFi claim to the headset falls in principle already good DT770 far behind the DT880. My recommendation therefore:
1) Hi-Fi Stereo, focus neutral sound imaging, good-quality music format: plain DT 880
2) desire for more bass output at the same time current compressed music: DT 770
3) Mobile Player, otherwise similar to No. 2) -.> Denon AH-D2000
The headphone amplifier of my Beresford DACs is sicherlichn not the last word, but slightly better than the Cambridge amp directly.
