Ver advantage of this tilt head is in the shallow height. I have it on a monopod in use. If the mounting screw just a tad bit larger, you could unscrew the head more quickly under the camera. So you need something longer than with Quick Release Plate. But again, the plate does not hang around with the camera. It would be nice, would bring out the Manfrotto tilt head with a center click so that you meet the zero position exactly. That's when a monopod Although not essential, but nice. The only real downside is that there is no friction. Solving the screw, the camera tilts away immediately, so always hold good. No big deal, just a bit irritating.
