I must admit the first was thrilled. Optical absolute hit and the processing of the steering wheel is just bombastic .... It is really great and really supported lid is very sturdy. My other Logitech predecessors were also really old and the latter I have a friend sold. After all, the Force GT already good 4-5 years on the hump and it still runs without any problems! For this reason, I am also switching to the G27. I have also previously been thinking a Fanatec or the new Trustmaster T500RS buying. However scares me but from much that the steering wheels are actively cooled. What told me honestly, at a hardware runs with low voltage, really surprising. In addition, one reads again and again on diverse issues. Since I am a general Unlucky, I've got it little desire to put me to address it. Although maybe that FFB should be better than the G27, the durability is still important to me.
Let's get started:
The steering wheel:
What I really like about the steering wheel itself is really super nice workmanship. The leather good and especially missing not to be too slick. You sweat significantly less on their hands. The shift paddles like me very well, and seem to me really very robust. Even the slightly longer pulling path of the paddle I find very positive. The Force Feed Back se varies, of course, depending on the game. I drive Currently Assetto Corsa and Race07 (+ addons) and have it set more relaxed. So if possible, no Rütteleffekte. The steering wheel also runs Incredibly quiet. It is so quiet that I even keep checking without headphones Games. I've seen some YouTube video where the sounds were recorded yoy. the G25. However, I would not expect so. The noise made me really disturbed at DFGT because simply sound is just mega .... So for the volume of FFB motors I would give right times 10 stars. Could not be better, and I can not imagine :). But of course there is always something negative ... the G27 and also the predecessor G25 have a negative property in the zero position. The steering wheel has a "inactive" FFB "area ... you can the steering wheel effortlessly turn slightly to your left and right without which it moves back. That's why I wanted to only send them back, because I thought it was broken. But this is quite normal. Probably it is up to the two FFB motors that always support only each other. Would that work against each other, the hardware would suffer greatly. The zeroing ensures the first turn by the motors work against the direction of rotation. That is the suppressed and the rights draws. Thus the motors therefore not mutually get in the way, there is a "dead" zone of eg the left engine. In the race, the apparent effects are not swallowed. They are already there, as shaking or pulling etc .... However, one simply has no steering resistance. But you can tell frankly in the race, as well as not, if one only once the FFB has set properly. (What time is not so easy. ) To reduce the tolerance range something, you provide the FFB in the software to 101%. What many users write, the yoy that G27. the G25 with steering clacking is what I but really can not understand. Maybe this is also due to my FFB settings. So a clacking, as it did also in DFGT, there is not in my copy now. It shakes me, what you can hear, but a clacking ... I could not perceive so. The buttons on the steering wheel are really good mounted and more than enough. The buttons were so little when it G25, I could never understand really. Another thing to heat, with me the steering wheel is also at about 2 hours cranks not hot, but warm, as I said, that can also be my settings. But my DFGT was significantly warmer than the current G27.
Pedals:
The pedals I find Super and are also suitable for use socks. There are probably players who take the races a whole corner serious than I and perhaps thereby contribute right shoes. I drive times with socks, sometimes I drive barefoot. Because it seems to me really contrary, that is the surface of the foot rest made of plastic. Anything else would be to me a little too cold. These are the pedals now made of metal, I find super se, but one should at least wear socks to drive. What really surprised me how hard the brake pedal is ... because you have quite a step on when I think of as my old DFGT: D .... Otherwise this is pedaling with 3 pedals quite different than with two , In the beginning I did not know how to do it with the domes, now I'm going to like in the real car. Use your left foot to the domes and the rights for gas and brake ..... At first it was really like I would need a third foot: D ... really getting used to. The processing of the pedals is really solved very well. If you compare the pedals Fanatec with the G27, you can see directly which are almost completely made of metal. In addition, some models even FFB. However, I really do not know why do I need this ... so according to the motto, let church in the village and so :) .... But at the pedals from Fanatec, I would argue, that would be really beneficial to always wear shoes , Who likes it real, is likely to lay down those pedals. There is probably also an adapter to connect the Fanatec pedals on G25 / G27.
H circuit:
When H circuit I really have to say that it in addition to the steering wheel and pedals really something "easier" looks and not touching so dibasic. The circuit was vs. definitely. the G25 significantly improved. The H-circuit definitely works very well. Since there is nothing to complain about, but I doubt the longevity. If the shift times really go wrong, rather the Trustmaster RH6 Shifter me would there (or as the well is) buy. But with 3 years warranty (if you registered with Logitech), you should first be on the safe side. Otherwise, I would say that the circuit is OK. You skin a not for now, but is poor in the garkeinen case. Even buttons are easily accessible and function properly. Well, that was to be expected from a manufacturer of keyboards and gamepads.
Software:
The Logitech Profiler is still a good solid and above all functioning software. However, I once had the problem that I was able to download from the manufacturer's site no 64-bit drivers. He has always pulled the 32-bit version ... for whatever reason. The 64-bit version is about 16.4 MB in size and is lgs510_x64.exe. Otherwise, the software does what it should do.
LEDs:
The idea with the LEDs on the steering wheel, I find great! Because as I said currently only Race07 and Assetto Corsa games, I need for Assetto Corsa additional software the FanaLED means. Which is free and can be found very quickly on Google.
If your software uses, makes sure that switches off her the additional FFB effects and her only because the software used, where the LEDs are not without FanaLED's flash.
My Conclusion:
After many trial and cursing and and and .... but am in retrospect very pleased with the steering wheel. When you see the price and compares it with other manufacturers such Trustmaster and Fanatec, then you can make eignetlich the G27 nothing wrong. The steering wheel will appeal to any player who likes long races. This steering wheel is in my opinion so designed, built for normal "household". Those who want more realism, more money needs to take into their own hands. Deals there is more than enough. But below 600, - uro's going really very little if one möchte.Wer really penetrate into the high-end class set itself apart with steering wheels, there are still way above, no limits ...
In terms of durability, you can not complain about Logitech. I still have next to a G27 G510 keyboard and a mouse G500. And run and run.
Update 09:12:14
Now after I have the steering wheel a couple of days already in use, I had to deal with some other things ... fighting not wild, but I had already the DFGT.
For Race07 know, the "Power and Glory" would strongly to use Mod. The originals FFB in Race07 is simply too vague and could one really spoil the fun. For just google ... G27, Race07 Power and Glory Mod ...
The pedals have me now also a bit annoyed, but that was actually always so that you had to do something because tuned ..... What bothered me was the hard clack sound of the pedals when you press the pedal and get rid of leaves. Now I've screwed the pedals and stuck under the lifting points felt underneath. Do not try this! One can thus lose its warranty !!!!! Anyway, now it nice and quiet and muffled sounds. Still a very nice wheel and would buy it again.
