French film? Even a comedy? This can not go well, I think to myself and there we go already with the 1st prejudice on my part. Quickly I'll disabused and find myself with prejudice at the characters in good company. Action has already been more than once played here, so I consider myself in this regard in the background. I could identify with the film immediately. A visit with my grandparents, a conversation about the news and here we go: refugees attacked by all sides to Germany, everywhere sprout mosques out of the ground, and from the evil "foreigners" who take away our jobs, we want to do not even begin. So it is clear. Prejudices and xenophobic ideas everywhere. The film takes up this issue perfectly, almost served every cliché and encountered the issues of racism and intolerance in the only right way: with humor. It comes as quite a few moralists like to say, but in "Monsieur Claude and his daughters" not just about making fun of Jews, Arabs, Catholics, Muslims, but mainly about the intolerance and xenophobia of the family (in this case, French). Humor breaks here a lance between the characters who gradually realize that they really are all the same, and have human understand very well have the same interests and intentions. I do not want to imagine how the parents would react, a daughter was a lesbian and had brought their woman to me. "Monsieur Claude and his daughters" manages to bring this sensitive topic around prejudice and stereotypes in a wonderfully funny way the viewers closer and thus achieved that viewers think after all the laughter and joke about the actual, very serious background and into itself. Alone that this movie can do that, he already deserves 5 stars.
