Material:
At first glance the RAVPower charger works very well made. The cable fits nicely into the socket and wobbles there may not rum. Upon closer inspection you realize that the gaps between the two plastic plates are not uniform throughout. The plastic can be bent relatively easily, making it indeed less brittle. But in pressure situations (sandwiched in between backpack books) may cause damage to the internal components.
The smartphone-facing surface has a bit rougher and with a rubber ring. So the smart phone can not slip so quickly down. The lower side but you should with rubber nubs or similar provided, lest the whole charger down smooth surfaces together with mobile fall when we come to the cable only once. Because it itself has smartphone size, you have to not be afraid that you throw the phone down accidentally.
Handling:
The Qi-unit a power pack has been supplied for connection to European outlets. Contained therein USB plug but you can plug in to take advantage of the PC to the charger. Connected to the mains is the power supply a very faint chirping sound. Who is sensitive in this regard, it should not use the bedroom. I notice that not in the office.
If you have a mobile phone then correctly positioned it begins as if by magic from a short start-up sound accompanies the store. Be issued this 1.0A, 1.5A which are recorded. About the efficiency of this type of charging can thus argue. The original charger from Nexus 5 loads it on with 1.2A. The difference is in the speed of loading. Inductive it takes considerably longer (almost 3 rather than 2 hours from 5% to 100%).
Is the Nexus 5 loaded, it remains in the status of "charged" when it is in the Qi-unit. So there is no difference to the original charger.
Conclusion:
Qi chargers are still in its infancy, but already show their potential. This provides here the smartphone a secure grip. The positioning falls because of the size of the smart phone charger easily. Charge time will be slightly longer than "directly from the mains". The comfort obtained can not be completely compensated for the somewhat weak power-efficiency as well. But because it does what it should I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
