Sonos Playbar: TV Soundbar and Wireless speaker for music streaming (wireless controllable with iPhone, iPad, iPod, Kindle, Android), black (Electronics)
A rating of speaker sounds is always highly subjective. Why is premised that I still with right stereos - grew up and still represent for me CDs a relatively new technology, though I now most of my music referring online - so amplifier, two column speakers with thick cables. I'm from the Sonos technology very enthusiastic and have two Play3 and a Sonos-Amp (because the above-mentioned standing speakers with thick cables). Sonically, I have nothing to complain about at the Play3, for use in our kitchen are perfectly suitable. Now to the Sonos Playbar: I use with my LG 47LK950S, connected to an optical cable. The quality of workmanship and material quality of Playbar is impeccable, the Imstallation sonostypisch simple and easy, the integration of TV FB worked right away, the IR signal was easily the TV. put through because the Playbar stood before the TV and the IR sensor hidden. I even had the impression that the IR sensor of Playbar was receiving more than the TV. In TV mode: It was to hear a very significant improvement in the television sound - was also to be expected. Unfortunately, there was the problem that the TV sound was not lip-sync. This also could not be solved with the appropriate setting function of the TV. I found the delay of the sound in relation to the image as so disturbing that I could not accept it. In DVD / BluRay operating one often looks so dubbed films, there the delay is less noticeable.
Music mode: In pure music operation Playbar two Play3 fall mE tonally opposite eg sharply. The centers lack clear the bass would be to me personally in principle sufficient (at least I did not feel, a sub is missing), but klnallten selectively so pure that it is not pasted in the sound but stood out downright repeatedly from the music and thus disturbing pushed to the fore. There is only for bass and treble settings, but that did not allow Winstellung that were meinn hearing needs justice. That the stereo effect is hardly noticeable but is on the design of the Playbar what I do not want therefore incorporate as negative Pinkt in the evaluation.
Otherwise, everything works fine as usual from Sonos (radio, streaming services etc.).
Conclusion: The TV sound is significantly upgraded, the lack of lip sync but was too distracting. Hopefully there is this problem with users not, it is possibly of TV brand / model dependent, at least so far none of it was to read in the comments. The sound in the pure music business like the young people who were probably socialized with the MP3 sound from the mobile phone speaker, seem to be quite well - the demands of my delivered Henden to 50 years ears it was not enough unfortunately.
Thus, I sent back the Playbar, although I would have liked another Sonos device.
