I scanned my CD flac file and installed the squeezebox server on my Synology DS211 +.
I injected tags with mp3tag including images tags to cover albums.
The ReplayGain tags were generated using Winamp (I did not find any other software to effectively generate these tags on flac files).
Now I rediscovered my CD with random playback. The sound level is balanced through ReplayGain tags, no need to raise or lower the volume on each piece of change.
The squeezebox is plugged into a good amp and good speakers: The sound is very good and the music that comes out of the squeezebox is very well rendered on my stereo. I'm very happy.
Moreover, the case seems well made, robust and relatively stable.
A when buying online FLAC file at amazon ;-) so I definitely pass me my CD player?
I now have a premium membership deezer. I regularly listen to music on deezer outside my house, if I like it, I add it to my account and then listening at home since my squeezebox. I even creates deezer playlist is where my friends who put music at home while they are warm, home, adding their discoveries on my playlist!
