As at 1 impression: The headset was very well packed in a smart card, which now adorns my shelf. As I've unpacked the 1st time, I just thought: WOAH WHAT PART. I have never before had such a brute part in the hand, with the many jack plugs (just a 5.1 system) and the USB cable, and of course me beeidruckte the relatively high weight and size. When I had it then the 1st infected times to my computer and did the first test with music and games, I was initially pleased, but cut off the stool did not me. But that should change over time.
At that time I had no sound card, but ran the Roccat Kave to onboard sound chip of my MSI P35 Neo (motherboard). After a few adjustments by the Realtek - Driver (the onboard sound is Realtek) I could have a lot more out of sound quality, especially what the bass setting was concerned. I was so happy at first, but eventually much to me that the headset unbearably noisy and whimpers (the squeaking occurred especially when you move the cursor on). I much that at a later date, since it is only noticed when the headset is completely silent, so you listen to any music or playing a game. This annoyed me greatly, and I was about to dismiss as "junk goods" the headset.
I read in some forums but that this problem does not auftitt with all users of the headset, and that most of them use a proper soundcard. Thus, I decided to test it just once and ordered with at ALTERNATE a sound card, the ever-popular "Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Titanium". After the card was there, I built a she, installed all the drivers, put the headset on and voi - là: No more buzzing. But the noise was still there. I searched feverishly in the driver of the sound card settings from all, tried and tried, but the noise did not go away. Then I tried myself with the equalizer. In this there was the level setting (overall level of the headset). Which is normally, so also on full blast with no equalizer. Then I put down little by little the level until I arrived at the minimum (-24dB). Lo and behold, the noise was gone!
Now some may think that the headset is now completely silent. Far from it: If I fully turn up the volume level in the driver or allgemien the system volume of Windows, it tears me almost from the ears. Then I took care not to many other settings, and now I am so far that I can say that one of the Roccat Kave can get conjure up a beautiful sound, which (at least for me) somehow gives one an inner satisfaction: "So should sound music! "(Does that sound like a pervert?)
To sum up the whole thing: the noise and buzzing of the headset is not a problem of the headset itself, but a problem of driver setting or existing hardware. The buzzing noise coming through the onboard sound, which, as in my case, probably poorly insulated and therefore penetrate noise from the motherboard. With an extra sound card resolves the problem that is anyway almost mandatory, as has (at least for me) turned out to use the full potential of the headset.
Processing / handling:
+ Very valent appearance and grip
+ Hand-stitched upholstery
+ Very stable
+ Spiffy blue LED - lights
+ Very long cable
+ Very useful Kabelfernbedinung
+ Full elastic microphone with useful Mute LED light
Sound quality:
I think that one can generally poorly defined. Everyone has finally another listening experience. It is important here but the right attitude in the software.
+ Clear, full and strong sound
+ Powerful bass with vibration (of almost like a Massur for the ears) -> In Battlefield 3, for example, one of the bass really skin off my chair, a superior sense)
+ Great surround sound in games (especially tested in Battlefield 3) -> locating enemies or sources of noise works very well
Comfort:
+ Upholstery very pleasant
+ Ear cups enclose the entire ear -> very pleasant, little to no background noise
+ Suitable for long gaming sessions
+ Sits firmly on the head (when moving the head down one thinks it slips same from the high weight, but this is not so, if you thought the headset (just as well) right behind her ears stuck
Conclusion: The purchase was truly worth it. Listen to music, gamble games, which now makes a lot more fun with this very herrvorragendesn headset. For the price absolute cream. Anyone looking for a 5.1 headset, but will not spend so much money, some time has to Richi term recruitment and also a neat owns sound card, the Roccat Kave can strike without hesitation. I hope my review has helped you and eliminates the noise problem;)
