I bought the cable with 2 meter length, because the original cable to connect the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI connection was not available and also with (currently, 12.18.2014) is about 40 EUR way too expensive.

It works flawlessly and transmits the video and audio signal as you expected. The Surface Pro 3 detects it automatically when the cable is plugged in and automatically reduces the image displayed on the tablet display resolution to full HD, so you can view compatible device with HDMI connector, the video signal on any Full-HD.
