Before the Panasonic G3 I photographed with a variety of DSLRs.
(Pentax istDs, Pentax K10 Pentax K5, Nikon D300, Nikon D200)
Despite a smaller sensor:
The Panasonic makes images that do not need to shy away from the comparison with very good DSLR Kameas.
(Assuming good lenses)
The occasionally read assertion that it was the camera at the level of entry-level DSLR, is it justice at all.
Positive:
The generally very positive remarks of Vorkommentatoren I can not add anything.
Therefore, I save a further list of positive features of the camera.
One point I must mention however, necessarily:
The G3 also works perfectly fine with very reasonable third-party batteries. 8-10 euros)
The also supplied by Panasonic GH2 seems in this respect to put massive problems.
This is annoying because the original Panasonic batteries are horrendously expensive.
However, a potential buyer should be aware of the following negative points of the G3:
1. Housing:
Housing is too smooth, or the grip is too small, so they must be kept very well.
So before try in the store.
(I was the small size of the housing important)
I also dissemble occasionally thumb the ISO setting, as the thumb has no bearing surface on the back of the camera.
2. Rotary Multi Selector:
The rotary multi selector is too stiff, or too smooth.
If you press a little more firmly on the wheel and rotates, so you no longer accidentally adjusted the aperture, but the exposure compensation.
So I have some pictures wrongly exposed.
These negative points are also mentioned in various forums by other photographers.
The accidental adjustment of the ISO setting with the thumb and the accidental adjustment of exposure compensation with the rotary multi selector may correct a firmware update surely Panasonic.
If you get along with the mentioned negative points, we obtain with the G3 an excellent camera that will prepare each dedicated photographers last a lifetime.
