Already in the 80s I was a fan of functional Casio products. Whether these were the database watches, sports watches or watches with calculators. This product does not appear here from 2008 but from another time - to come - namely the end of the last millennium. However, do not bother doing that, because the function of this clock is not "be nice" but "be practical and straightforward." Who wants to have a nice clock should buy a nice good quality mechanical clock. A clock with a mechanical heart can not replace the present clock here. But on the other hand, a mechanical clock does not reach the quality of Casio GW-M5600. In the overview - the advantages are: + Easy handling + Useful functions + 5-band radio receiver, ie almost worldwide automatic time setting + Multiple time alignment functions throughout the day if a balance had not worked + Good readability and clear display in all detail screens + Extremely robust through the design, z. B. by rubber-protected control knobs, protected display, water resistance, etc. + Solar cell - need not stingy eg with the light or alarms etc. to deal ... but see below under the disadvantages.. + Automatic light at arm rotation + Long band + Second time zone, and world time display
The disadvantages are: - No capacitor for energy storage but only a long-lasting battery. This is not the environment-friendly technology which, I hope there will probably have to be replaced after about 10 years of battery. Then you could install the battery, theoretically, a 10 year lithium. - Timer only about one hour. Here I would like to see a minimum. 24 hours timer. If technically not really be a problem.
Overall, nothing for a Schönheitswettbwerb and not a substitute for a mechanical clock, the tastes are well known, different, and what is today sold all the "beautiful design") but ideal for everyday use. And at least for the next 10 years! A clock for every situation - highly recommended - in my view.
