The main points for me:
- Simple assembly (screws were all with this + good guide)
- Easy to install (via super genius web interface - one thinks almost one has a Windows itself - merely with the difference that you only have the important functions and any frills just is not there and therefore does not interfere)
- Ingenious web interface (like I said ...)
- Easy creation of network shares
- Driving after some time in the Power Saving Mode (One can the station so just by running)
- But be careful: When one of the Explorer integrates a Share on the DiskStation as drive slowly if the DiskStation just saves power. So rather embed per favorites Link ...
- Runs and runs and runs - Reboot last 41 days (due to a power failure ...)
What else is important. I had to switch to Gigabit switches, so you can exploit the full performance of the DiskStation. Now I copy large files up to 30MB / s. In very many tiny files (eg .cs code files), the copy speed drops significantly down to 1 or 2 MB / s. But that's just for all my other external hard drives.
The DiskStation I can only recommend.
