Positives:
+ First, the build quality is striking, which is reminiscent of system cameras or SLRs, Sony flat-Standard
+ The dimension is not greater than a fixed standard lens, but the entire camera is housed therein
+ The attachment to the smartphone is solid and safe, flexible attachment allows mounting on various smartphones
+ Installation of Apps PlayMemories Mobile from Sony, with the smartphone to the control unit of the camera is not a problem on Android
+ The app works fine, you can control via the smartphone the self-timer, the AF lock, the picture size, the quality and the zoom. You can choose whether the camera is triggered by the release button or the touch screen
+ The camera does (not supplied) to a tripod mount
+ USB charging cable and a camera hand strap are
+ The 30x zoom is really very strong, but you need a tripod
+ There are macro shots possible up to 20 cm
+ Shooting in twilight / dusk are possible but are somewhat grieselig
To bear in mind:
- The lens is heavy in relation to the smartphone. This holding of the camera is not very ergonomic and easy to solve accidentally smartphone keys
- The biggest drawback: The connection via WiFi is not the fastest. When the camera pans or zooms, makes the smartphone display with 2 seconds delay, the same applies to moving images (eg Sport) and video recordings, as any compact camera or smartphone camera is better
- It is not supplied transformer, so you are dependent on an external device with a USB connection or need to buy a USB transformer
- The smartphone holder is not as flexible as the product images suggest, for example, you can not turn around the bracket for Selfies or pan for macro shots
Conclusion:
I think it's ok if Sony is experimenting with new concepts - and it may well also give users who install this quality small marvel of a smartphone or iPhone, and thus be happy, but for me as an average user (I think anyway) make a few Questions: From the dimensions of the Sony Smart shot larger than for example a Sony Cybershot (which also has WiFi and the one thus in connection with a smartphone can also send images directly). The Cybershot HX or 50 (if you put on a strong zoom value) makes better pictures, especially with moving subjects. So why should I buy myself a smart shot? In addition, good smartphones like the Sony Xperia indeed been good built-in cameras with 8 megapixels have, but much easier to use are even with moving images.
There are certain niche applications for the concept of Sony Smart shot, but I will continue especially compact cameras or camera use in my smartphone. As a tech-savvy person I forgive three stars for the small miracle, but more is not enough, in my opinion because of the undeveloped notion unfortunately.
