On the English Cover is Clary and it looks just hammer! :)
The German cover is also quite nice and fits well with the book series.
Opinion '
I found much better than Volume 2 Volume 1 and am really looking forward that Cassandra Clare has managed to beat her first novel! :) City of Ashes does not last long with repetitions, but a seamless continuation of the predecessor. The writing style is just as captivating and well been like in City of Bones.
The characters go through visible developments and Simon's kinda grown on me in this volume to the heart. Of course, the other all but I liked Simon not particularly in CoB and the role he plays in band 2 was really great. I thought at first that this whole vampire thing would bother me much because I have gradually lost the desire after all the vampire books about it, but no, Cassandra Clare has this 'theme' super woven into their history. I personally found CoA not as exciting as yet CoB, but there is in CoA but much more dialogues and emotional depth, which has together created heartbreaking scenes and I had to suffer with properly in some places.
Valentine is still the villain and try using the second 'Mortal Instrument' again wreak all kinds of damage, what so few gruesome scenes makes (yes, yes, the prologue!) And there's lots of action-packed battles in Shadowhunter manner.
I should probably say. The me Clary (more) 'annoyed' than in band 1. Annoyed perhaps not the right word, but there was often scenes where she was just naive. The best example is there for me the Clary-Simon-relationship.
The dialogues of the two and Clary reactions to Simons behavior etc. everything that was already NEN bit too dramatic for my taste. But Jace rose nen place in my character ranking because you just had with him only the absolute hottest action scenes and dialogues! :)
Conclusion '
Brilliant book, a number which is getting better and the best characters of all time, Action, Emotionen'ja, the book has (just like CoB)
everything a good book needs!
