The printhead of my Canon PIXMA iP4300 seemed to be defective (striations and intermittent colors could be seen). After several unsuccessful cleaning attempts, using the printer-maintenance program, I had given up my printer. A replacement of the printhead was eliminated for me, as the price of such an about 2/3 a new printer would have meant.
Fortunately, but read my iP4300 by Liqui-Jet "revive" a full-fledged printer.
In order for such success is possible, it is essential to comply with the enclosed, very detailed manual. It also describes how you can pre-checked the print head, if a cleaning attempt makes sense or whether there really is a defect.
Was very important for me to note in the instructions that before changing the ink mark, the print head with Liqui-Jet is to clean. Through chemical reactions of the various ink formulations with each other clogging of the printhead nozzles is otherwise possible or even worse, a defect of the printing head.
