The SMDV softbox I bought after some research, because it seemed the most appropriate compared to other similar size (Aurora Firefly, Lastolite etc.). 1. The construction, if you want to because to call it that, is limited to the removal of the softbox from the enclosed bag, the engagement of the six rods in the locks (two spare rods are included), screwing the flash bracket and the plug in the flash. After two minutes, that's done and you can get started. For me, this is the killer feature. The softbox is the subject of daily use. No comparison to my old SB Hensel. Clear was the larger and more robust, but the assembly and disassembly have me sometimes so annoyed that I'm recently switched to umbrellas. 2. The SMDV is made entirely of plastic, (therefore almost always there) is thus very light yet durable enough for everyday wear. I have identified as the only weak point of the screw Panhead. One can order the SB locked in many positions, but even if you fully attracts the screw, the building is shaking still. That's not so bad, after all, only one compact flash with radio receiver on top of it, but for this price I expect even better processing just returned from a part that you will probably adjust every time you use repeatedly. 3. The hexagonal shape like it very much and the red dot in the eyes looks very appealing. 4. The light quality is very good, because inside the SB is a diffuser that diffuses the flash again somewhat more evenly, as a professional SB also makes it. Some other SB forfeited to the flash output on, but that did not convince me. With the Canon 580EX II I receive at ISO 100 in two meters aperture 11. This means Bl. 16 at ISO 200. This allows you to take pictures that leave no wish unfulfilled. Who buys this SB, so it should consider in advance whether there is not a new flash is due nor to round out the package.
