In order to escape the whole "cycle" of propäritären firmware should it be a Linux Receiver derauch a bisschem can do more. It should be spent a fortune, so much choice on the Opticum HD AX ODiN E2.
So, I received the unit I tested very briefly the function with the original firmware.
This was not bad but did not show the approach the performance and functionality I wanted.
So get into the network and Alternative Firmware sought. I then stuck with OpenATV 4.0.
Good performance (aside from cold start) and very feature rich.
With OpenATV I am very satisfied, a simple web interface incl. Streaming function is just as available as a modern, on-screen menu and many functions. Linux skills are not required.
What bothers minimal but is almost unvermeitlich, these are the menus with all the functions very complex. Since there are Advanced Settings in the Settings etc. you have firstonce a feel for the logic of OpenATV menus bekommen.Danach 1a everything.
One point deduction I give for delivery Firmware and the "simple" alphanumeric display. A matrix display I would have been desired (SenderName American advert).
---- Little help ---
Note to flash: It circulate false tw / outdated instructions. It is proceed as follows:
1. USB stick with FAT / FAT32 format (ideally 2 firmware (EN2 folder) Copy to the stick
3. Receiver back off (hardware switch)
4. Insert stick and switch (no key press!)
5. immediately after power "USOP" * and "No" appears there, the "YES" must now direct the UP button (control ring on the receiver upwards press) appears. Then wait. It may take up to 10 minutes until the firmware has been flashed.
The process is illustrated on the display. (O..oo ... ooo ... oooo ... o ... oo ...)
6. The receiver reboots after the flash / the new firmware is installed and want to be set up
* Note: If USOP can not appear the receiver to en2 folder not found. Stick format again with FAT and again en2 folder unpack possibly reload. In Stick> 4GB test a smaller stick.
