In particular, the negative comments, I would like here to comment.
1. Remove the cover flap
Anyone who thinks that this would only be with "brute force" possible, probably proves to be patient. Admittedly, you need this until you get the trick especially at the beginning. This works best pushing (in my experience) when pressure is applied esp. Over the camera lens and the cover slides down.
2. Texting
Write the SMS is getting used to; A virtual keyboard is certainly something other than a "normal". I get along well with the "numeric keypad". The QWERTY keyboard however is sometimes a little difficult to use. I can imagine that especially people with larger hands (ie mainly men) within the framework of the numeric keypad are struggling to make the right button. The fields are not particularly large, but for woman hands / small hands I think with some practice quite feasible.
That there is no feature that notifies one when writing, when the umpteenth SMS you have arrived, to complain about, in fact. Such a function would be extremely helpful.
3. Exchange ActiveSync
This worked perfectly for me. Very user-friendly and fast.
4. Internet
Anyone upset about it, that the Internet is slow, should perhaps just change providers. Compared to a smartphone from HTC I have in any case can not detect any noticeable time difference when loading web pages.
5. Widgets
Mostly pleasant, partially redundant, are the widgets.
I particularly like the widget for 5 usually called persons, which is very helpful indeed.
But a bit annoying is the fact if you ticking on the menu settings widgets that you want to display in the widget bar at all (or the cross removed), then the current widget settings are off on the display, even if these have nothing to do with the changes.
6. Calendar
Somewhere criticism was that a calendar entry can only contain 15 characters. This is only partially true, because it only applies to the title. For the body's more 100 and for the place again 15 characters available; for me that's enough.
7. Scroll
If you have problems when you scroll within the address book, you should probably get used, this run with the arrow keys on the top left edge. This is really fast and you do not run the risk of accidentally select an entry.
In general, these keys are very intelligent busy (eg while surfing you can with this zoom).
8. Instructions
Is rightly criticized the brevity of the instructions for use. Especially important tips (such as how to use the arrow keys) are unfortunately not possible. Who puts a bit of patience and intuition of the day, will still have fun on the phone, but who relies on a detailed manual or thinks he should, if necessary, have recourse to a different model.
9. General
Very nice, I think the three "desktops", standing side by side and can be selected by scrolling. This avoids that the desktop widgets is overloaded.
A nice (albeit unnöttiges) Extra is the fake call - I'll try very soon time.
That one with a single button (long press #) between normal mode and can switch silently what I think is very helpful.
The key lock is great - neither she goes too hard nor too easy out.
The MP3 player is also good and the headphones are in order. The memory can thankfully be extended.
The battery lasts already for a week without the mobile phone was switched off and still has 2 of 5 strokes.
Overall, I find the phone more than satisfactory and in particular by the price almost unbeatable.
So if you have enough time and desire to make friends with your phone by "trial and error", should cringe before buying no way!
I think the Samsung S5230 Star for such people thoroughly recommended.
