1. Sound
2. connecting directly to Internet radio stations without intermediary server manufacturers
3. access to my own music collection, which is on a Media Center with Windows 7
4. Design
All points were here as follows fulfilled:
++ Sound (you have to adjust to the ups and downs a little after, then the sound is excellent); Very punchy without humming bass and very fine levels for such a small box. Sound is balanced very pleasant by readjusting. If you switch Loudness on so you have to turn the bass even in the range of minus, otherwise it will be very suppressed.
++ Connection are stable without demolition. Radio is in the kitchen and Fritz box (in Eco Mode) in the living room about 15 feet & 3 walls
++ On the data on the Media Center can be easily accessed via the menu, no matter how you want to have sorted it
++ Design, very noble, valuable a jewel. Chic brown and orange / golden display. With us, the display is the inverse of the image, ie signature orange
++ Own transmitter can be added via the website to favorites and station selection squares on the remote control.
++ An FM radio is also integrated
Not quite as good:
- Radio can only be switched to standby. Does not bother me, because here are many devices in standby and consume very little power.
- Instructions for a bit poor (but you do not really need)
- Equalizer presets do not sound all, but one can govern themselves ups and downs and then goes off the post.
As a comparison, we had a Noxon 360 because this was always rated the best sound, but the Noxon sounded as if a goat pisses in a metal bucket. Operation of the Noxon is not as well done as the Sangean because the Sangean more direct dial provides buttons. However Frimware seems to be the same firmware, because the menus are very similar. When Sangean there on top of that an FM radio so.
Conclusion:
Many tried and listened to the Sangean beats them all hands down. In this price range, a clear recommendation for audiophile listeners who value beautiful and timeless design.
