Decided I'm looking for the black version of the Lumia 930. The unit looks classy (what is owed in large part to the metal frame and the rounded outwardly glass) and fits comfortably in your hand (again, thanks to the metal frame and pleasantly textured back) , There are lighter cell phones and there are thinner / smaller phones - but subjectively I think the 930 is not too heavy, and it is always suitable for your pocket.
Positively surprised me the battery life. My S3 I had to last at least 1x 2x better invite a day, and after reading some encouraging about the battery of 930 my expectations were not high. Unjustly: In normal use (occasional SMS / What'sApp, read news, play a bit with the configuration around or games on Youtube movies) does the battery currently loose two days by, in sleep mode (slight restrictions eg concerning. . Update intervals mails) almost four days. Who much plays or movies on the phone looks will probably have to cut back again, but for my usage profile I at every turn a charger the battery is good even without the need to have. In some reviews was to read that the unit is very hot after prolonged use - I can confirm to some extent. The lower end (battery) heats up sometimes actually quite fast, but little warmer than I know that from S3 ago.
In addition, the hardware is the price justice. The reception is good (GSM / 3G roughly on par with S3, WLAN and Bluetooth clearly better than the S3) and the camera takes very good pictures. Of course not on SLR level, but much better than I'm used to it from S3.
Very impressed I am by the operating system. In iOS, I thought it was always quite annoying that you can start without an app really only rudimentary information gets (must have but now since version 8 last Widget Support offers have become better) - because the widgets were the Android support since version 2 significantly practical , The tiles meet in the end the same purpose, and you can also Windows Phone in a short time to set up the system so that you can when you turn immediately everything interesting (weather, events, news) looks. Overall - and this is of course very subjective - but making the operating system a cluttered impression than Android, and it reacts much faster in almost all situations. No stuttering or pauses. At most times a - liquid animated - progress bar which you also do not have to endure overly long - so a system must feel. The connection to other services (in my case 1x IMAP mailbox, Exchange Server 1x, 1x Gmail account - each mail + calendar + contacts) succeeds fairly easily. Only for OwnCloud via CalDAV and CardDAV have to strive a (well-documented) trick. Ironically, Windows Phone suggests this overall much better than Microsoft Outlook ...
One downer is the supply of apps. Of course there are tons of apps that are available for iOS and Android - but not for Windows Phone. Really looked after me but only if the Google Now, Google Skymaps and Gleeo Time Tracker. All other apps I had on Android in active use gave it directly from the App Store, or there was an adequate substitute for it. Kritkwürdig the Windows Phone App Store is that many are traveling Piper: Because any shady ringtone collections or background images are provided with the icons of popular Google Apps in the store asked - here Microsoft should urgently improve the editorial revision.
Somewhere under the line, I am glad to have decided to change. The Lumia 930 offers high-end features at a competitive price and are thereby not respect. Hardware or software a nakedness. The app offering is upgradable, but overall already quite a bit better than its reputation. The only sometimes annoys the times unintentionally comical, sometimes underground stupid sayings are to catch a diehard of Windows haters ...
