On the advice of the Eagle and reading these comments and Stephane Henrard Mathonnet this cabinet Trevor Pinnock, I embarked on the adventure and this is now converted me (not Catholicism but at least the music of Vivaldi )!
Vivaldi's music needs both main qualities of Trevor Pinnock to be revealed:
CONTROL: the important as a musician is not to feel exalted himself but causing excitement in the listener (repeated rule particularly by Janos Starker but not only) which requires a perfect self-control. The mastery is especially important in orchestral music that quickly becomes inaudible to the slightest confusion.
CLARITY: each note is made to be playing its place in the specific language of the composer, subtle phrasing of the Baroque period would make sense in the overall sound and About
When mastery and clarity are the contrasts, colors and life of the Vivaldi music source and sink are paradoxically much more noticeable than in approaches supposedly more "radical".
On top of that, this box has two other advantages that make it irresistible:
- Superb sound recording that occupies the space beautifully and almost makes locating instruments
- A Simon Standage first violin as bright at the service of the collective and the composer and not at all narcissistic (what we can not say of all his colleagues!)
In short, a big thank you and well deserved Vote Useful for the three Amazonian co-authors for this brilliant advice!
