Thank you, Andre!

Thanks for this touching insight into the life of an athlete of the greatest players who has seen this sport.
Today I look at the TV no longer match, but the 80s and 90s, these were "my" decades.
With this book you will have the opportunity to live through this exciting period tennis again through different eyes. I could remember many of the moments described in the matches nor accurate. And it's almost as if they are now experiencing from the "other side of the screen".
Although I very carefully following this time and thought to be almost an expert on the tennis circuit this time, punishes me Andre lies :)
I had no idea that he actually hated tennis that it only his father had driven to. That what you saw in the square and in the TV or thought he saw, in fact 80% of the media a "gepushtes" image and that man Andre Agassi was quite different. Namely vulnerable, rather shy and often lost - especially in the early years.
The fear of cessation, the uncertainty about the future (what should I do otherwise, except play tennis, I can not otherwise) drove him further and meant that he not only against legends like Lendl, Connors, McEnroe but also against "current" variables, such as Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal took.
The book begins with a few swift current events and puts the reader in Andres after time as a child with his father in Las Vegas. You can learn the famous / infamous tennis camp of Nick Bolletieri know precisely with its "occupant" and learns about Andres academic problems and dislikes, his relationships and many anecdotes and information about his tennis colleagues and competitors, as well as his coach Brad Gilbert and Darren Cahill and not forgetting Gil :)
We read about the, doomed marriage to Brooke Shields, and the "happy ending" with Steffi Graf.
With the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, as well as many charity actions, he tried again and again to help disadvantaged children - even after tennis.

I have read the English Hardcover.
The writing style is unexpectedly very good and fascinating. As a fan of tennis time I naturally devoured the book.
The paper quality is unfortunately like so many American books, rather low. The printed image but much better than in others.
The book is for fans of Andre Agassi of course a must, but also for fans of the tennis scene for active time of Agassi highly recommended.
Even I, as a connoisseur of this time have to learn very much new and interesting.
Although tennis occupies a large part of the book, the man Andre Agassi is, with all its emotions, strengths and weaknesses in the foreground.
