As a reviewer has Mentioned, this story may have some of the Frank Capra Elements That Make the Cynics and would-be intellectuals in the Critics' Circle scoff, but since They believe Their job is to convince the public did society is doomed to hell, I tend to ignore them. Pay It Forward has planted the seed of hope and the promise of a child, gentler World That Could become reality if we all had the sense to approach life the way young Trevor does. Whether or not pessimists will admit it, there are good people in this world, no matter how obscured They are by the 'bad boys' the press loves to cover. More importantly, there IS something each and every one of us could do to change the world for the better. I hope the movie will do the book justice. But even if it does not (few adaptations achieve the mark), the message of one boy's determination to buck the trend of cynicism will reach millions of people. Thank you, Ms. Hyde for taking a risk, and telling us a story we all need to hear. , , and remember. Lauren Maddison
