1. Preamble:
Normal TV - tube and cheap DVD for 25, all connected via SCART, then saw our television and music culture to 01/2014.
We wanted to change! We want modern, we want families cinema, concert we want, we want to have a say ....
It was clear: New TV and a home theater system for the first time ... but please for beginners.

2. Arrival:

The Blue Ray Player is additionally packed in a still adhering protective film, this also removed. We were thrilled, visually the player looks really very nice !, not dirt cheap, but you can ask him sehbar the living room.

The pros joy was equal braked.
It lacks both the HDMI cable (now know I what is HDMI, High Definition Multimedia Interface, which is a fully digital interface for audio and video signals) for the image + sound (signal) connector of the Blue Ray player to the plasma TV, as well as the optical TOSLINK cable (Toshiba-LINK cable, fiber optic connection system for digital transmission of audio signals), to hear the sound from the plasma TV with home theater system while watching TV.

3. Design + Connection
Set up and connection problems. Instructions for installation are shown in the form of summary sketches.
Cable length is sufficient in the living room of 30m². The surround speakers are about 10 meters.
Who has a bigger living room needs to be clear about the fact that the cables must be manually extended with terminals etc, and those are really thin Drätchen and no consistent connector system! Must be probably then purchased directly from Samsung or be patched manually.

The stripped wires for insertion into the boxes are very very thin, the whole thing is a bit of fumbling. There is also no end stop, it can happen that you too deeply inserting the strands bend, ... and no signal arrives.

The boxes for the center, front and surround have small holes on the back, so you can directly hang on the wall with a small screw. Because of their size and the very small weight easily, even falling on hard, if you hang in the corners. So if you want to hide the home theater system, is served here well. The Center we put behind the SAT receiver, thus it is also difficult to see.

4. Getting Started
After connecting the HDMI and Toslink cable home theater started. It comes after a short time a menu which interrogates certain basic settings. We therefore did not know about us, we first along with the instructions "normal" or "Auto" is selected.
Then inserted DVD ... starts automatically and shows clearly audible noise, chatter, chirp, even though we were sitting 3 feet away and the whole thing is noisier than our old no-name cheap DVD player. 5. DVD / blue ray:
The player buzzing during operation! This hum is independent of the operating time and varies, sometimes louder quieter times. So far, all DVDs or Blue Ray from the video store could be played without problems, incl. Features and Extras.Tonauswahl DTS, 5.1, etc ... works. Backups to DVD-R and DVD-RW also go without hesitation!
Fingerprints, dirt, sometimes lead to reading problems, severe loss of sound pixels and, strangely enough, only buy DVDs. After cleaning everything OK again
6.CD
All our purchasing music CDs can be played. Likewise, CD-R with mp3!
7. USB
The home theater system plays without problems from MP3 music through USB front connection. We have USB drives up to 64 GB and external hard drive connected to 2TB (Seagate 3.5 "USB 3.0 HDD). Samsung 840 Pro SSD 256GB goes auch.Wird detected, displayed folder structure, single file list, very clear.
For some reason he recognizes WMA files, but do not play them. The problem Does anyone?
Photos in jpg format as well, clearly laid out, intuitive operation.
Backup Films on external hard drive in VOB. Format in video.ts folders will also play. Other files I have not yet tested.
8. FM tuner manually search for and store the transmitter without problems. The receiver is good, much better than our Philips compact Anlage.Ein Plus!
9. WLAN / Internet
not tested since 2 laptop and 2 smartphones with wireless lying around here, enough for 5 persons ...
10. Sound / Surround
Quite nice: By using satellite TV and home cinema as sound via TOSLINK the manual adjustment of the Lautsträrke on the SAT Receiver FB is the volume or blocked constant. Volume then moves to change Anynet-FB only selection TV or home theater on the Samsung.
For 30m² sufficiently loud, but, of course, no high-end sound system! About the Equalizer can be some frequency ranges to boost or reduce manually. So you can adjust the sound to the acoustic properties of the space, the seating position and the quality of the source.

2 star deduction for the thin Kabeldrähtchen and Verbiegegefahr and extreme hum of the mechanism which really extremely annoying, was slowly improving and is now completely gone.
