+++ New design of the game board and game components
Everything is now much darker and more coherent.
+++ New values of the house cards
The House cards are now perfectly balanced. Each house has now 1x4, 1x3, 2x2, 2x1 and 1x0 strength points. The various special abilities of cards are very balanced and well chosen.
+++ New card decks for 1st phase
with the new decks of cards are now also maps where the owners of the throne, raven, sword can choose effects themselves. Very useful
+++ Fate cards in battle
Although this is more luck factor, but makes the battles even more exciting noticeably. I do not want to play without.
+++ New impact of the special command (with star) crown
with these special command you can now recruit in a castle or fortress. In the old version, this was possible only with tickets.
+++ Game with 6 people
in the old version was only possible with extension. Now the 6 noble houses are incorporated at the outset in the Schedule. In a game with fewer people, just more neutral units or not walkable fields are placed.
+++ New Wildsling cards
by the various effects during a Wildsling attack, also gets this aspect of the game is a new exciting touch.
+++ Garnisionmarker (+2) for the home area
Thus, the home area can no longer be taken so easily.
++ Ports
These fit perfectly into the game mechanics
++ Siege conditioning
Is interesting new strategic opportunities
neutral ... new special instruction for assault
Instead of using a Raid order to frustrate 2 other commands, you can now also remove defense commands. Here I would gewunschen me something more powerful impact. (But is already criticism at a high level)
neutral ... new game characters
Were the old game pieces made of wood, they are now made of plastic. Here I would gewunschen me a little more detailed game characters. But they still serve their purpose.
The luck factor (with destiny cards) has remained the same compared to 1.Edition in Zwiefelsfall even become a bit less. The new (very exciting) Glcüksfaktor Fate cards preclude the already above-mentioned new flexible card decks for the 1st phase. Here the good fortune of a sometimes very frustrating factor was (eg there is ever any recruitment card) to an exciting luck factor shifted (as my fighting strength including House map really to win the battle and I can with luck might yet turn the tide and outnumbered win?)
Do you play without Fate cards (is optional, but I would not leave out), the luck factor is certainly declined slightly.
Conclusion:
For me, the board game "of Thrones" by a very good game has developed into a real reference game. Owner of 1.Edition I absolutely recommend to buy the 2.Edition, you will not regret it.
