Why should one buy but much more expensive Olympus?
Well, first of all, of course, because the 6mm to miniature expected actually make a difference. Who photographed much reportage, know what I mean.
And the picture quality? Compared I find the pictures with the Panasonic sharper, more detailed. But what makes the Olympus so interesting for me is picture quality per se. The images have a certain something, have a truly unique character. This can unfortunately poorly described in words and is sure to my purely subjective opinion. Leica lenses liable yes to this by many as an estimated character and so I want to compare the same here without wanting to naturally make the Olympus on a par with the Leica lenses. But especially for images with sharp differences in brightness brings the Olympus produced more coherent images.
It helps nix, who has both lenses in focus, has to form his own opinion.
The Olympus lens is processed top in any case. It feels very high quality and manual focusing is a pure joy. The manual focusing is activated by simply pulling back the way of the rotary ring. Very nicely implemented and in practice totally intuitive. TOP!
So why only four stars?
Well, the extra cost compared to the Panasonic is not to be despised. If you still see the Olympus over 60, - Euro estimated for the (admittedly high) lens hood, you get already scratching their heads.
