In 1975 the group came one last time for a reunion album, simply titled The Beau Brummels together. Have reunions often the character of tepid infusions of bygone days, so this is a logical and high quality continuing evolution of the musicians involved. Besides the aforementioned Valentino and ELLIOTT Reformed band still consisted of the founding members DECLAN MULLIGAN on bass and John Petersen on drums. Sporadic also the ex-colleague RON MEAGHER participated on guitar. Guest appearances by Dan Levitt on guitar and banjo, VICTOR FELDMAN to all sorts of percussion and the pianist Mark Jordan completed the sound. And that is very subtle and balanced. Among the 10 songs is also YOU TELL MY WHY which already the second work The Beau Brummels, VOL. 2 1965 ed. It is presented here retreaded and can be seamlessly integrated into the overall concept. And that is to offer a homogeneous collection of songs from ultra-smooth, flowing Country-folk tracks. The ten RON ELLIOTT compositions have all hit potential, are catchy, orchestrated virtuoso and sung fantastically animated by SAL VALENTINO. FIRST IN LINE, SINGING COWBOY and WOLF take moderate and elastic to ride, the two tracks latter reach the permeability of Steely Dan songs.
YOU TELL MY WHY, THE GATE OF HEARTS and GOLDRUSH move in mid-tempo very relaxed and confidently continued. In TENNESSEE WALKER, THE LONELY SIDE BY DAY TODAY and is creamy, sunken ballads. DOWN TO THE BOTTOM principle also belongs to this category. The track gets but the guest Ronnie Montrose startling electric guitar bursts donated that tear him from the introverted environment.
The Beau Brummels convinced completely. The songs are all of exquisite quality, that is, masterfully composed, played and sung. You create a serene and superior mood and the arrangements are airy, delicate and clever. The band thus a subtle, timeless masterpiece succeeded. THE BREAU Brummels is thus an (almost) forgotten classic that has received far too little attention.
