Reflection (2001), very hard to find today and almost exhausted, had revealed a voice and the beginning of a still timid style and made more pop sung mostly in Korean than anything else. All this was nicely done but still a bit gentillet.
Light for People (2002) scored the singer in an international career with English texts and less syrupy style, more openly turned to jazz while the incursions remained cautious there. voice gained in intensity and technical mastery.
With "Down by Love" (2003), the true potential of Youn Sun Nah started for the first time to truly erupt. That of a magical voice, to the incredible range, capable of all stunts. Some daring were emerging and find their realization and sublimation in the invaluable Lento (2013) among others. Anchoring to jazz was becoming more and turn international registration became obvious with a disc mixing Portuguese, English, Korean and French and in which the accordionist Vincent Peirani then become unavoidable and companion turn a great jazz and his instrument, was emerging.
Ten years later, the disc retains its freshness and marks a milestone in the artist discography that has increased steadily, to assert to dazzle us.
