The best hardware is useless with poor Firmware

It is well and happy 10 years ago that my CDs and DVDs were burned by a burner, ie the burn process has indeed ended, the medium itself is not readable - even in the device itself! Meanwhile, the empirical drop rate is about 50%, regardless of whether a CD or DVD, mark blanks or cheap blanks, 2x speed or maximum. A little research on the net revealed - this is a known problem with this torch! Is it the hardware? No, because of the "ASUS" burner is actually a LiteOn device, probably more accurately the model iHAS124B. Now Asus has however been no trouble in the firmware, it is version "1.0" sometime in 2010 and another does not exist, while there is clearly LiteOn diligent and has now reached version S, which dates from the end of 2011. UPDATE: Crossflashing was successful. It is now a "iHAS124B AL0S" 5 CDs later, I also know that it was worth it; Errors = 0%!
