These earbud headphones (in-ear awkwardly named) are the best I've ever tried. Before falling on SONY MDR-ED21LP, I got myself all kinds of high-end headphones and the result was never at the rendezvous (not powerful enough, prominent treble, ergonomics not studied). The MDR-ED21LP are able to restore a strong volume with low input signal. They are therefore ideal for portable MP3 players. The bass response is exceptional and make you rediscover your favorite tunes with maximum pleasure and an unprecedented scale (Think however to adjust the equalizer on your MP3). Small preformed rubber caps provide good support and prevents the headphones sound leakage to the outside. Contrary to-ear, they do not enter the ear canal but are just preformed to fit the duct inlet. I really hope that this reference will never be withdrawn. Indeed, they put fined almost all the high-end market-ear (Brands that make you believe that displaying a high price, it means that their helmet is the best, and arriving home, we cry ...) @ +++
