I've always wanted a little "Always with camera" that should be handled quickly and easily, thereby providing a useful picture and sound quality. I have now worked my way through a variety of models in the 50 to 100 Euro sector (Mustek 9300, Easypix DV 5200 Aiptek AHD200, Toshiba Camileo P10), but I never get what I expected.
Either the sound quality underground (Easypix), the picture quality bad (Mustek, Aiptek) or was it was otherwise any hooks (eg that the image information is displayed permanently during playback, which simply interferes with the Easypix) or the camera had a very short sized Live like the Toshiba, the goodbye after only two days in the electronic nirvana after they had previously provided its service only reluctantly.
When Zx1 I now exactly what I wanted: good image (under appropriate lighting conditions, because you just may these cameras by the bank does not expect them to keep up with a full-fledged camcorder in a dimly lit room or at dusk and in backlight, it is just simply out of the picture), easily understandable sound, extremely easy handling and small, handy dimensions. These also splashproof through the rubber and shock resistant to a certain extent. There is really nothing to complain about.
Remarkable for me only the fact that the camera no image stabilizer has (which does not bother me, because the cams in this Preisegment who one, not even work much better if you at the movies has a reasonably steady hand and fast panning avoids) and that the Zoom rears very choppy (as with the other cams also, but unlike the other cams it provides sharp images). Furthermore, worthy of admiration is also the amount of supplied equipment (the software for image and movie editing on the camera directly stored, two batteries with matching charger, all connection cables for PC and TV / video, small protective bag for the camera). Not this is the SDHC card, which does not also be common.
Any programs for picture settings or something in vain. The other cams often offer more special features, such as a voice recorder or as (nobody needs, if you ask me). Not so the Kodak (which can only be a normal photo shoot). Apart from the setting of the date and the adjustment of the image quality is also there simply nothing to daddeln. Does not bother me at all - as I said, I just wanted something simple to plan and hold when the kids romp again through the area.
Conclusion: The thing indeed can not rotate as movies in bright light - but it very well! Thus, for this price range, and as always with the best grade camcorder!
