For me, "The Confessions Tour" of Madonna the best live DVD that I have ever seen. The stage show that it delivers is awesome and the setlist of this concert from London is very varied. Classics such as "Like a Virgin" and "Erotica" mingle as beautiful, melodic new versions under the remaining, newer songs from their 2005 album "Confessions on a Dance Floor". Especially these two versions of the title I like better than the album versions of it. "Erotica" shines with a totally new lyrics and no longer sounds so offensive as yet in 1992. The melody is very keyboard-heavy and simple, but this simplicity reigns supreme. Impressive is not the live version "Paradise (Not for Me)". This piece from 2000 album "Music" is also markedly different from the original studio version. Here Madonna sings along with her friend Isaac. The album version, however, is presented in the chanting and without the impressive part of Isaac and I personally like less. However, this live version explodes everything. I get in this ballad always creeps. Unlike the other titles of the Tour Madonna returns here no big stage show, but sitting on a stool and accompanied the melancholy melody with a guitar. For me this performance is one of the best of her. Fun preparing the Crossover "Lucky Star" / "Hung Up". In "Lucky Star", the melody of "Hung Up" is highlighted. This mashup has pep and ignites. Provocative occurs when Madonna on "Live to Tell", one of my favorite songs from her. Here they chained themselves to a glossy cross and wearing a crown on his head. This symbolizes the dying Jesus. Here Madonna also proves her singing skills. When I think back on as the live concert "Ciao, Italia" 1988, I realize that Madonna has vocally changed more than positive. Overall, the two-hour live DVD is a hearing and eye pleasure from the first to the last second. There on top of some short making-of extras for the "Confessions Tour", however, have this total only a term of approximately 15 minutes. This package contains a live CD, the one as opposed to the concert DVD alone can not buy. She has thirteen more or less happy selected live versions of the London concert. "Confessions" is then to find, for example. It is used on the concert DVD as an intro for the great "Live to Tell", which in turn inexplicably missing on the CD. So it seems quite out of place. Likewise, nothing to look on the disc, the "Sorry" remix, which is not working properly without the corresponding images on the live DVD. These two songs were already found by other reviewers for the lack on the live CD. Is exemplary, however, that the beautiful "Erotica" version can be found on. Otherwise, only the inexpensive packaging made this set falls on negative. For me, after only the adhesive dissolves under the CD-plates from the carton packing. The packaging just lay around and I have to treat them well.
Conclusion: Madonna fans will have fun on this DVD / CD set. Beginners or people who do not have to possess all of Madonna, I recommend the single-DVD of the concert. The "Confessions Tour" is simply an experience you have to see, whether it is Madonna fan or not.
