This is certainly in addition to the early Hammer Vampierfilmen the best of its genre! From a technical point everything is consistent and superb: witty and wise-made music, wonderful facilities, wonderful photography and brisk timing. Here, this film already took note of the initial titles to ever even on the arm - you have to see it, then you will understand it. Then the actor Sharon Tate is very beautiful, Roman Polanski SEGR funny and Ferdy Mayne can certainly accommodate with Christopher Lee. The final twist of the film, where the vampires gain the upper hand, has finally once as we wanted it ever want to see. Only: This film is shot in widescreen (available also in the opening credits). Why (hence 1 star less) are cut in this edition the image in favor of a frame just left and right ?? Something always annoys me beyond measure, characterized the image structure is no longer correct and the colors are not brilliant. Let us hope that the DVD better to handle it - and in addition to the very well-made German synchronization, the original English version brings - because Sharon is then that much sweeter ... Gorgeous vampire fun you can watch again and again!
