However, the built-in power-down is an absolute no-go. The plate goes after 2-3 minutes of inactivity power down - and that's not controlled by the operating system, but the USB controller in the HDD cage.
I have been working intensively on the PC last night and the board is certainly gone over 100x in power down and back to the power-up. Absolutely annoying wait times until the plate is again accessible if you want to save only a small change. For the life of the hard drive certainly a problem.
I have a lot of "Googled" but there seems to be no way to power down mode or turn on a reasonable period of time to set (for example, 45 minutes would be quite ok).
Probably remains only actually a script to start that every 2 minutes a disk access performs to keep them awake. This is very inconvenient because I put the plate on Linux, Mac OSX and sometimes under Windows ....
