A battery grip has many advantages (edgewise Photography, weight shift, longer battery life, displacement of the battery as a heat source, AA batteries, etc.). But in this review do not want to go into it, but instead compare the products of different manufacturers.
This NoName battery grip (or called Pro Battery Grip as here at Amazon) costs this country about the 25, one-fifth of the original, making it the best of my knowledge the battery grip is available in this country. On the packaging (see my clients pictures) is no manufacturer name.
The functionality is identical, visually but instantly recognizable as a cheap replica. In particular, the rubber coating allows the handle to appear somewhat inferior. In my copy of it was also still glued quite dirty, so that was still under air. But I have the rubber coating may smooth out mostly so that the air has been removed from the side. Furthermore, see the printed elements (with the buttons and switches) from less finely than the original or when Meike (see my clients pictures).
I have the impression that the buttons are also minimally different when it comes to pressure point, but really minimal. In terms of appearance, they are dull, rather than shiny.
But as I said, working the battery grip is doing fine, and has even now not had any problems after several weeks of use. Defects are to really determine my impression alone in optical range.
Who puts a little more value on appearance, but do not want to pay the price of the original, for example, can draw for the 40 to 45 for the battery grip Meike (or Phottix etc.). In this make both the rubber, and the imprints, a much better impression and are without closer look indistinguishable from the original.
I personally look not care less, so I've decided for the NoName variant. I should at this point but perhaps note that I'm not sure whether you here actually always gets the same product in order or not, because there is no clear manufacturer.
Conclusion:
To buy the original, I consider personally as a waste of money to the window, but who can afford it will probably still want to pick up the original.
The BG-E8 by Meike (and Phottix etc.) is a good investment, even if one little attaches importance to the optics.
Who the appearance does not matter that should this NoName variant really try.
In any case, I recommend at the non-originals but a trader with good return policy.
