The currently best F1 racing simulation

Foreword
Since childhood, I'm a big fan of Formula 1 one and have followed if possible every race since the mid-80s on television and was also from time to live the Grand Prix of Germany on the racetrack. At the time, the first formula appeared 1 computer game such as PitStop (C64), Accolade Grand Prix Circuit (PC), Geoff Crammonds F1GP series (PC), through to the current F1 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Each of these games was in his time the best on the market and made then and now a lot of fun.

The Installation
Anticipation is to say that I did not buy the game on Amazon, but with an online trader in the form of a Steam-Key. For this variant, a Steam account is required. The previously acquired product key is entered and verified with Steam. After that, the title appears on your Steam library and is downloaded in the background. Depending on your Internet connection, this process can a few minutes, take up several hours to complete. Following the game installed on their own.
Who has a steering wheel, this must configure if necessary. I use the Logitech Driving Force steering wheel. In Logitech Profiler the game has to be selected and set up F1 2014 previously. In the settings menu of F1 2014, the corresponding steering wheel can be adjusted in addition and programming. Here you can assign buttons and switches, adjust steering sensitivity and Force Feed Back vibrations to own wishes.
The screen, graphics, sound and display options should be adjusted before the first race. F1 2014 is fortunately well clear even with relatively old hardware. My components are all from 2010 and I can play in the highest graphics settings, play without any restrictions. I possess an AMD 6-core CPU with 3.2GHz, 16GB DDR RAM and a GeForce GTX 580 graphics card. The game runs absolutely smoothly with the highest graphics settings.

Game Play
Whether you want to play alone at the PC, in multiplayer mode over the Internet or home network via a LAN, F1 2013 offers a variety of options. In career mode you can team the season on high work, or simply go only on any race track a short race. Whether alone against computer opponents, or against a friend via a network or online. F1 2014 makes a fun break. The game includes all the tracks, teams and drivers of the season 2014. The graphics are detailed and very realistic. The sound appears real and is absolutely first class. The cars can be controlled from different views. Who wants to have it realistic, select the drivers view. For others, are more to choose from. Can be controlled via keyboard, joystick, gamepad and steering wheel. To experience the game as realistic as possible, you should resort to a steering wheel with pedals. Cheap models are available starting at 30 euros. Reasonable steering wheel sets with force feedback (vibration) such as the Logitech Driving Force cost about 120 euros. So a steering wheel for a realistic driving feel and is a lot of fun. The force feedback let an every bump, every curb and opposing contact by partly violent vibration on the steering wheel feel. A steering wheel provides a realistic driving feel. A swerving vehicle you can feel properly and can take countermeasures accordingly.
F12014 is very detailed. About a race distance, the tires and the driving use deteriorate lap after lap. On the track, slowly formed in addition to the racing line in time tire wear. In Career Mode
In career mode, there are a several ways to choose from. In placement test you get to know the individual functions and maneuvers. But you can also start as a rookie in Formula 1 one of the smaller teams and work your way through the season. Depending on the vehicle and power the team sets certain expectations and you should see to it that you always come to the finish ahead of his teammate. If you show a good performance over a number of races, then you get contract offers from better teams.

Multiplayer mode
Who wants to go against computer opponents not only, but also times against friends for the offers of multiplayer some ways. The game can be played either via LAN on the home network, via the Internet, or even to a computer via a split screen. If you want a friend, a quick race ride on any track, then unfortunately the rest of the peloton is not populated with computer opponents. The whole race then deny only two vehicles without opponents. The only option is the co-op here. For this, one must, however, the season completely through and have to drive on the same team!

Less well-liked has me:
1) Multiplayer
If you want in multiplayer mode with a friend go against other computer opponents, this is only possible in the Koop mode. For this, one must, however, go in the same team and must go through the entire season. If you want, for example on a specific race track go in different teams, then the rest of the peloton is not populated with computer opponents. So then just 2 vehicles on the track a race.

2.) formation lap
A warm-up lap before the start is not possible. Also, I find it a shame that no lap of honor, or the trip to the pits after the race is not possible. You also have to do without a ceremony. It only looks like the driver in the Parc fermé to get out of the car and let himself celebrate.

Conclusion:
F1 2014 is a very successful race simulation. The graphics and sound are absolutely great. The differences from the previous version are indeed minimal, but when, once again F1 2012 starts, then has quite a bit done. The tracks and cars are very detailed and really succeeded. The multiplayer mode is in need of improvement, but in co-op makes it really fun.
Meanwhile, F1 2014 in some online shops traveled from 12 euros offered. While it does not receive a data carrier, but only a steam-Key, but perfectly adequate for me.
