Detailed research took me to the elegant and compact DeLonghi Dedica in hochwerigem stainless steel finish, and my expectations were not disappointed, on the contrary!
The DeLonghi Dedica combines the advantages of a portafilter with those of an automaton, so it is possible for example to preset the water temperature and the amount of coffee: a single button push.
I'm not a barista and want to easily and quickly prepare good coffee or espresso. And the machine is to be able to handle even normal coffee powder and even so to create a crema.
Result: The goal was absolutely achieved by DeLonghi! It produces a crema with normal coffee powder and freshly ground coffee is the solid and thick crema even reached by professionnen equipment quality in every way! Even the milk foam succeed outstanding!
A test on the net shows what is able to achieve the machine.

My Conclusion:
Advantages:
- Can also process normal coffee powder, and pads (3 stainless steel sieves).
- Produced very good milk froth.
- Noble finish and quality workmanship.
- Great, timeless design - the machine looks very good and is an eye-catcher (that's at least my opinion, but Duch foreign feedback confirmed).
- Slim design, yet stable.
- Very short heating time.
- Quiet pump.
- Adjustability of the water temperature, the water hardness, and the automatic switch-off time (each in 3 stages).
- Individual programmability of the amount of coffee (2 separate keys for it, so 2 different personal preferences possible). A keystroke genüft and the machine switches to the preprogrammed Mange automatically. The amount of coffee can still be extended or reduced as desired by pressing a key.
- Sufficiently large water tank (1.5 L), easy to fill.
Disadvantages:
- The tamper is inferior. Otherwise so far nothing negative I noticed.
For the price of less than 200 you will hardly find a better quality, better and more beautiful machine.
Note:
For the first time a specific operation must be carried out: let it flow 100 ml of water through the steam wand. The pump makes a 'stuttering noise' and pulsating water. This may sound strange, but is perfectly normal! In normal operation the pump runs quietly and without stutter.
