The first two parts are linked together well, but the third is curious. A secondary character tells the first chapter, the same captain narrates the second, after which Hemingway returns to a narration in the third person. In addition, long digressions during this last part make us wait long enough the outcome of the story.
In my view, this is an interesting novel for fans of Hemingway, but it is not up to the Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms of or Old Man and the Sea.
