I am perhaps one of the few in which the system could not be installed without problems. Connecting and losärgern, so it started with me. Positive should be emphasized that Sonos provides an excellent customer support, a toll-free hotline with patient, friendly staff to help 10 to 18 clock. However, the link to the live chat was not who I was informed in the auto reply by e-mail support. The support from Sonos has then switched using a browser add-on to my PC, and put the system up and running by some router settings were changed in my Fritz! Box, in the network configuration of my PC settings have been made and my firewall had to be completely uninstalled although this is compatible with the Sonossoftware and I've made the settings that are recommended in the technical description of Sonos. Now I have installed the firewall and can not use all functions, especially the release of the media library of Windows Media Player. In other firewalls I do not want to start experimenting around, because I think for a long process to have the best firewall found. Without support, I would have eventually given up in despair and returned everything.
The ZoneBridge I bought to be flexible, it provides the ZonePlayer 90 and in the future probably still at least another ZonePlayer The Sonos wireless ready, otherwise you would have to connect at least one ZonePlayer using the LAN cable to the router, which then this function would take over.
This feature meets the ZoneBridge also, as much for the better, which is also the most important thing ultimately. Nevertheless, here are some negative points:
- With the color white that falls in itself is not very nice device especially if you do not camouflages sent.
- The processing is good, but the plastic casing and through translucent LEDs affects haptic not very beneficial.
- Uses the device much electricity when it runs continuously? There are no obvious saving function.
For controller software should also be mentioned, this runs fast and stable, but visually makes a somewhat stale impression.
For Sonos system itself I would have liked to be able to stream out directly from the Browser, a connected device to the PC or a Media Player. Also playing a file or a playlist newly created must be a minute long update the library.
I forgive ultimately 4 stars because the device performs its function, the disadvantages mentioned subordinate themselves or are called to help readers of the review in selecting the right system for you. I would again opt for Sonos, at least as long as there are in my view not appropriate alternatives.
Update 4/25/2014: From 4 stars to 1 in 6 of 8 Customers found this review helpful. Reason: It piled up more and more disconnections and dropouts until then no more connection could be established. I have the bridge is replaced by another and different players hung on the router after do nothing more went, then I could media library at least try to rebuild, but because it breaks in half off again, now no connection is possible again. All settings I checked NAS, Fritz box and controller without success. Support I have not yet tried, because I have to work for its times, so time to wait for a bridging day on which I am at home ...
