So yes Hunger Games is a series of fashion. But the comparison with his previous stops there. Quick reminder on the two above-named:
- Fifty Shades of Gray is just a poorly written filthy dung and flat that does not deserve the name of literature (yes it's cruel but it is like that). No story, improbable and stereotyped characters unbearable, nicks scenes "hot" totally mundane and painfully repetitive. Move on!
- Twilight. I loved it for all the wrong reasons. Poorly written, ridiculous and corny but the shot so funny. I devoured the 4 books and movies with some real crazy crises laugh.
Common point between these two "works": writing in the first person by the heroine and it will be the only point in common with the series by Suzanne Collins.
For Hunger Games series is a strong and poignant, remarkably well written (yes, even in the present and in the first person, I still can not believe it!). Katniss is a human heroine, so close to us. Far from being stupid, she does not care a fig to be primed or desirable, it does not hesitate to say that the heart of the war she did not head to think about which boy she prefers, she reasons intelligently and asks the right questions. Katniss has its strengths as well as weaknesses. Besides, none of the characters in the series is all white or all black. We love but also hate at times. Basically, the characters really "real", not unassailable hero.
Hunger Games does not in my view a series "for teenagers" like Twilight could be. For the universe of books, history, feather Collins are dark and harsh. There the dead, oppression, injustice, betrayals, choices also that shock and upset. Heroes kill and are killed. We are far from the land of Care Bears and vampires that sparkle.
In the head Katniss we understand first-hand the descent into hell of a human being forced to make decisions that go beyond, to make choices and sacrifices that torture him, to suffer and survive the unbearable.
When in the end what to say except that it is exactly what I expected. No we did not pretty close that one wishes so strong, but realistic and obvious end that is imposed on the story. This is an end of an implacable hardness but the final thing. It will live long in my memory and I have very much respect for the author who knew how to bring his characters and his story until that memorable end.
To read, really.
