Dragons "become", left with their guardians (beings rejected by society because of deformity), some hunters, sailors and an expert in dragons are in search of a mythical city. Typically, the search becomes less that of the city as their own identity. The masks fall and Elise, Sedric, Thymara ... and the dragons themselves discover who they are and what they want to become.
The conclusion is sufficient in my view, the main questions are raised and allows the rest to leave room for imagination. But I did not believe that Robin Hobb's it, it multiplies the usual volumes. And then there still will not curly enough elements for a final volume ...
Although the plot is very classic, that originality is very limited for that likely familiar Robbin Hobb and despite there being little action (especially psychology, love and the friendship), the story is well paced and I had a very good read.
