If he does not necessarily need to have read all 'Freak's Squeele' before starting this book, it still remains very advisable to have previously read 'Freak's Squeele: Funeral, Volume 1 - Fortunate Sons'.
We are in a mysterious world, a little "steam punk" (cf. technology "old school"), strange (cf. science and its esoteric vocabulary) but close in many ways from ours (the chat, the filmographic expressions like 'Hasta la vista') to follow the separate education of two young people, in two very different environments. We also follow the fate of a mother to the apparently troubled mind. The game, of course and as the face coverage, is that these stories join ... Maybe ... At least not in this volume!
Trained at the Ecole des Gobelins consular the cartoon world envies us, the thirty-something Florent MAUDOUX offers a whole universe, is both irritating facilities (few), organized delusions of royalty made adaptations historical (Joan of Arc), or of immemorial myths and yet more recent shots, but with a passion and an extremely attractive even addictive skill. MAUDOUX gives us to perceive a universe in which we want to totally believe.
Should we add the quality of designs and colors, tributes BW manga for fight scenes ... and love!
Last but not least, inks and adhesives of this book feel very good.
