What it all went wrong and why a harmless detective story for X-Rated Movie mutated, can be seen in the very detailed booklet read (in English) ....
In the time in which The Cyrkle wrote this famous end 60s soundtrack, the film was titled "Squeeze Play" in production and miles away from value, to run only in porn movies.
And it shows the quality of the songs also - they are very far from the typical psychedelic sound this time away (even if he can be heard here and there) and reflect rather the musical American Feeling the end 50s and early 60s ( Here then towards Beach Boys outgoing) resist.
Track 6, however, entitled "Nicole", but the finest psychedelic substance is then pure - so as if The Doors stood with her "The End" 1967 Pate.
The song would actually can be used easily by Francis Ford Coppola in his Vietnam epic "Apocalypse Now" and would have fit perfectly ....
Even otherwise present The Cyrkle here includes outstanding musical spectrum that ranges from easy listening to Country in the style of Johnny Cash to perfect Herb Alpert-and-The Tijuana Brass copies and also are not afraid, Grooves in Lalo Schifrin-let prime-manner from the stack!
The original vinyl album of this film with the first 12 tracks reached astronomical prices now - here on this CD we still have 8 more tracks - bonus tracks, which were all previously never been published ....
Primarily, these consist of alternate takes and takes, that were actually used in the movie and yet significantly different from the album versions.
And that's where we find a magnificent jewel, which I already announced in the title of this review ....
Track 15 with the unassuming title "Kites" is one of these score pieces that you first of all have in full length and playing time - but unfortunately the existing three minutes and 54 seconds to reach ....
What a fantastic track - almost symphonic in texture, slightly psychedelic somewhere between Lalo Schifrin and Frances Lai, in wonderful krispem Stereo, stunningly beautiful and just gorgeous ....
How created to enjoy it in an endless loop ....
Alone this track justify buying this CD for each film music lovers, the way I love the instrumental sound of the end-60s ....
